Allow me to rave about a skin care company, Skyn Iceland for a moment… So for the past couple of years I've had the worst skin of my life. I had worse acne than I did in high school. I have had awful cystic acne that I had never had before. This all started in 2016 when I graduated from OSU and my mom was sick. I was preparing to move out of my apartment I had been sharing with my boyfriend moving into my dads for a few months while I tired to find a new apartment in Cincinnati. But the stress didn’t end then I started grad school in a new strange place and then my mother passed… I don’t think I had ever had so many stress hormones coursing through my veins before… And healthy food and water? Yea, that wasn’t in my diet.

I'm also a person who pops and picks at pimples so there were days I really felt like I looked like a leper. I'm a grad student and I had a lot of other very stressful things going on in my life so I assumed that had something to do with it. As some quick googling cystic acne is caused by hormones.
In January I decided "new year new me" and I wanted to buy quality make up. Hell I still struggle not looking like my face is cake. Make up is hard. But anyways I went to my local Macy’s makeup and Blue Mercury counter and asked for help. The lady that helped me was very nice and not only did she give me essentially full face makeup but other skin car advice. And this was when I was introduced to Skyn Iceland Antidote moisturizer, and Nordic Skin Peal pads. These were recommended to me and she used them before she did my makeup. That Day I ended up purchasing everything that that she used on me except the mascara and lip gloss. I was also given a sample of the Glacial face wash.
It took awhile (January to the beginning of March) but the difference is amazing! I don't think my skin has looked and felt this good since I was kid. And I don't really have much acne for me to pick at.
So my skin care regimen in the morning is:
I wet my face with warm water
Lather up a dime sized bit of the Glacial Face wash.
Rub a dub that one my face.
Rinse it of with warm water.
Iceland Antidote Moisturizer.
Iceland Eye Relief Cream when my eyes are looking extra puffy and dark circles.
My skin care in the evening is:
Glacial Face wash
Nordic Skin Peal pads every other night. (if I use it too often it dries out my skin.)
Antidote Moisturizer
The Nordic Skin Peel ($45) Exfoliation pads are really helping with my dark blemishes from my previous acne picking. But like I said I have to be careful with this because if I use it too much my skin begins to peal like a sun burn. There are 60 pads in each tub. And I can typically get two uses out of each pad. If I have any open blemishes it can burn a little. And I don’t care for the smell. But they do a fantastic job and keeping my skin looking polished and it is helping fade my dark spot.
The Glacial Face Wash ($30) is really a good all around face wash. It’s easy to get too much on your hands though. And It really is easiest to work into a later on you hands before you put it on your face. And it does lather better with warm hot water.
The Iceland Eye Relief Cream ( Pen $20) is the only product of that nature that has actually worked for me. It has a strange texture. Its rather thick and it clumps in a strange fashion that almost reminds me of cottage cheese. Despite this is goes on the skin smooth like a dream. Like the Antidote Moisturizer it has a cooling affect that is pleasant.
I also carry around the Berry Lip Fix ($14) in my purse. I was suffering from some major chapped lips this winter. With only a few applications my lips were good as new. It’s kind of tingly when applied. The texture is silky smooth and just delightful.
The Iceland Antidote Moisturizer ($45) is my absolute favorite product. It’s cooling and minty and really wakes me up in the morning it’s tingly an wonderful. It makes my skin feel soft and fresh. It smells like mint candy. The texture is silky and its really light weight. What I love is that this doesn’t’ make my skin greasy at all. Which is huge because my skin is pretty oily. And it absorbs in to my skin pretty quickly. This product really is amazing.

I'm always skeptical because no other line of skin care has ever helped my skin it either dried it out too much or made it even more oily and I would have really bad breakouts. I really am in love with Skyn Iceland. First of all they work for me, secondly the products last a while I just now bought my second bottle of the moisturizer but my first isn't completely out. As I said I'm a starving college student so I have to be careful how I spend my money and the prices of the products make it easier to fit them into my budget unlike some other brands. Then most importantly your products are cruelty free! I do my best to be sure that my entire beauty regimen is cruelty free. To me besides that fact that its awful I don’t want to use a product that they are so concerned that it might be bad for people that they have to be sure its safe by testing it on a poor little animal. But in short I love this brand and love the products that I’ve tried. They work very well, they are affordable and cruelty free!
Have you tired this companies' products? Do you have any products that have saved your skin? What is your skin care regimen?
