Monday I spent trying to choose a feature to compare with my analysis of Feature 38, that I analyzed for my assemblage analysis class last semester. It was not easy, some features I wanted to look at weren't cataloged or didn't have a large enough sample size. I thought about looking at other sites but I'd have to have an even larger lit review in my thesis. And then I would have to work around redoing previous ideas. Unless my advisor or other committee members don't like the idea, I'm going to compare a Middle Ft. Ancient feature to a Late Ft. Ancient feature hopefully there is a difference in the species they were exploiting. I heard back from my adviser and he wants me to make certain the assemblage isn’t too fragmented by looking at about 10% of the faunal material. He did add if it was very fragmented it could be interesting to look at it from a formation processes perspective. I know that’s what gets my advisor excited but no, my thesis is not going to be boarder line theory. Once I have made some progress I’ll give an update!
